Removing Barriers, Creating Opportunities
At Taranaki School of Music, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy, creativity and confidence that comes from learning music. We understand that starting an instrument can be a significant commitment for families. To help make music education more accessible, Taranaki School of Music is grateful to have received support from the George Mason Charitable Trust, providing funding assistance to help reduce financial barriers for students who may otherwise miss out. This support allows more young people in our community to discover their musical potential and experience the many benefits that learning an instrument brings.
Music Has the Power to Change Lives
Learning an instrument develops far more than musical ability. It helps students build:
- Confidence and self-expression
- Concentration and perseverance
- Creativity and problem-solving skills
- Teamwork and connection with others
- A sense of achievement and belonging
By making lessons more accessible, we can ensure that more students have the opportunity to experience these lifelong benefits.
Support for Families
If financial circumstances make music lessons difficult, we encourage families to get in touch. Our aim is to work alongside families to find ways to make learning an instrument possible.Every student deserves the chance to explore their musical potential, regardless of their circumstances.
A Community Supporting Music
We are incredibly grateful to the George Mason Charitable Trust for recognising the importance of music education and supporting our vision of a community where more young people can access quality musical opportunities.Together, we can help the next generation of musicians find their voice.
